No, he was not a Freemason, but he served them well and played their game. As far as his intentions, I won't judge him. He's already gone to meet his Judge. But of course, they say Hell is paved with good intentions...
Reagan had an utter hatred of communists, marxists, socialsts, etc. He was a member of the Democratic Party before he became a member of the Republican Party- and he left because he saw the Democrats becoming socialized, like Al Smith did during the New Deal era under FDR. Reagan's first wife was Jane Wyman, a Catholic and a lay-sister of the Dominicans.

President Reagan only had a Catholic baptism but not an education into Catholicism. Even so I think that he was still rather a providential figure- after he left office the U.S. went into unremitting decline. The typical American doesn't know what Freemasonry is about and Reagan was also an outsider (i.e. an actor and military reservist turned politician) to U.S. politics- he also adored Jesus Christ, and spoke and wrote of him frequently:

"And, as we Catholics know, Western Civilization is Roman Civilization, first classical Roman Civilization, then Roman Catholic Civilization, as the Christians preserved and carried classical Roman Civilization to the world in a Christianized form. That is, after all, why we are described as Roman Catholics."
