Cuento lo que he podido averiguar sobre el tema:

1) La zancadilla sí existió y sí produjo la caída, aunque puede que también el policía contribuyese a desestabilizarlo. De esa acción existen varias tomas donde se ve claramente esto. Además, existen vídeos de otras acciones de esa misma periodista en las que patea a un niño y a una niña respectivamente. Y hablo de patear, no de meter el pie para una mera zancadilla. Algunos propagandistas han hecho circular una toma donde esto no se aprecia del todo, con el fin de sembrar la duda y afirmar que, o bien el sirio se tiró a la piscina, o bien la zancadilla no influyó en su caída. Las otras tomas se ignoran adrede. Se trata de exculpar a la periodista y demonizar al sirio y en general a los refugiados sirios. Recordemos que la cadena de televisión, supuestamente afín a Jobbik, despidió a la periodista por impresentable sin necesidad de presiones exteriores.

2) Al poco de conocerse que Osama Abdul Mohsen venía a España, empezó a circular por las redes sociales la acusación de que era un terrorista islámico. Aducían como prueba una captura de su perfil de Facebook donde supuestamente aparecía una bandera negra con caracteres árabes y una bandera verde, blanca y negra:




La captura resulta un poco extraña: más bien parece un mosaico de diferentes capturas. Por otra parte, estas imágenes se pueden falsear muy fácilmente. Por ejemplo, con un par de toquecillos de Photoshop cualquiera podría asegurar que Osama es falangista:

Independientemente de eso, al acudir al perfil de Facebook del cual se supone que se ha sacado la captura, no aparece la bandera negra con caracteres árabes (cuyo significado profundo ignoro, aunque probablemente tenga un sentido islamista). Sí aparece, en cambio, la bandera verde, blanca y negra, bandera antigua de Siria que ahora utiliza el Ejército Libre de Siria (FSA). Tampoco sabemos realmente quién es el propietario real de ese perfil de Facebook, ni quién tiene acceso a él.

3) Un segundo foco del rumor, posterior en el tiempo, es la prensa kurda como la que cita Alejando Farnesio. Además de la posible captura, citan como fuente a una página de un partido kurdo de izquierdas:

Lo poco que saco en claro (véase el texto marcado en negrita):

5) Mi CONCLUSIÓN es que no hay elementos suficientes como para afirmar que este hombre sea un terrorista islámico o haya pertenecido a Al Qaeda, si bien parece claro que no simpatiza en absoluto con Assad, a tenor de alguna entrevista que ha concedido. Que más bien lo que parece probado es que existe una campaña de agitación, con frecuencia usando medios innobles, para demonizar a este hombre y en general a los refugiados sirios, y esto al margen de la opinión que se tenga sobre la recepción de estos refugiados que nos ha impuesto Alemania.
