Boers are of Dutch descent

Not only Dutch, but also German and French. Braun (and its variants) is a common surname in any Germanic language.

By the way, I'm pretty sure there are many Boers of Dutch-Jewish descent, even if they no longer practice Judaism and their ancestors where Calvinists (a form of Judaism in fact).

Just a dialect? It's very sad to see the extinction of a brave people who fought against British imperialism for his lands and culture. This community has also contributed to Patagonian development as well as Welsh.

They are not dying off, they are assimilating into Argentinean culture, like former immigrants. I don´t understand why you care for them to keep living apart from other Argentineans. Likewise the Welsh.
