Thank you Hyeronimus, for the fine post you brought the forum about St. Nuno Constable. As HH Pope Benedict XVI said, by the ocasion the canonization of Saint Nuno and other new Saints of the Holy Church was announced, the most important of all of His example of holyness in life, was that you can be saint (and you should try to) even if your a military and you have to kill people by the call of your duty.
Not that Saint Nuno is the only christian saint that also was, sometime in his life, a soldier; but lately it has been generally associated to the idea of holyness one of passive, careless and politically correct pacifism that, in truth, serves more the interest of unholy men that real interest of The Holy Name of Christ. Not all the peace is good: the peace imposed by God's enemies, to better make little case of God's Truth and Law, must be fought relentlessly. As Jesus Christ Our Savior did Himself, chasing the salesmen off the Temple.
St. Matthew 10:34-42
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
